There are different forms of trafficking like: sex trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation of children in tourism, trafficking for tissue cells and organs, and trafficking for forced labor. Human trafficking remains as one of the most brutal and widespread human rights violations in the world today. UNICEF says that 1.2 million children are being trafficked around the world each year. It is the third largest source of income for organized crime and is estimated that annual profits generated from human trafficking could be as high as $32 billion per year. Because of the high dollars made in the sex trafficking industry, it is the fastest growing illegal business in America today. Since Nevada has legal prostitution, gambling and organized crime, it is easier for illegal sex traffickers to fly under the radar of law enforcement and maintain a very lucrative business here in our state.
