Jurassic Park takes place in the 90’s, a time when technology was on the move. The majority of the movie takes place on Isla Nublar, an island close to Costa Rica which has been transformed into a zoo for dinosaurs. The main premise of this book is that John Hammond, a dinosaur enthusiast and bioengineer, clones dinosaurs using blood from ancient mosquitos preserved in amber. He then creates a zoo like environment for the various dinosaurs, and hopes to be able to open it to the public, the rich public, as he is after the money aspect. Hammond makes his park so that it requires little human presence, running primarily on a variety of computer programs. When some of his workers ask him to have the park evaluated by experts, they bring in Dr. Alan Grant, a paleontologist, as well as Dr. Ian Malcolm, a new age …show more content…

Tim is an eleven year old dinosaur enthusiast that knows more about the animals on the island than many of the staff members themselves. While on the island, one of the computer technicians is hire by a rival company to steal 15 dinosaur embryo’s. Shutting down the computer program that basically runs the park, he steals the embryos and tries to make it back to a dock where a boat will pick him up to go back to Costa Rica. His trip is cut short however when he is attacked and killed by dinosaurs. He caused his own demise however because of how he shut down the computer program, allowing many of the animals to get out of their enclosures and have full reign of the park. This does not bode well for the other party who are out on a tour of the park. Things go sour for them as a handful of their party die on the way back to headquarters where they can turn the computer program back on. Grant and Tim are the main narrators, and they, along with Lex and Hammond end up making it out alive. When they are rescued, the island is blown up due to the mass destruction the dinosaurs have
