The rights of those who have disabilities is an often-raised issue in today’s society as they are the ones wo deserve the most absolute care and support because they are not aware of the consequences of their actions. Firstly, people with a disability should receive special care and guidance either from family members or friends. Further, those with disability deserve special treatment when involved with the law. Those who experience a disability are unaware of their consequences and actions. Finally, people with severe disability may require superior and never-ending care.

The novella illustrates how Lennie a man who suffers from a disability was the cause of Curley’s wife, once Lennie completed the action of killing Curley’s wife, Curley then fiercely wanted to get revenge for his wife and lead a mob of men to find a kill Lennie. Considering Lennie’s illness, he should not be punished in such away and should not deserve a consequence such as death. However, this was not the case in Steinbeck’s text and George was required to shoot his best friend by shooting him in the back of the head to save him from a more painful death at the hands of Curley, who has vowed to make him suffer for the death of his wife. Lennie accidentally and unintentionally killed Curley’s wife in the intention to stop making her yelling. He is a man who suffers from a disability which should be put into consideration. Those whom agonize from a disability are not conscious and mindful of their actions which can result to them facing some consequences. It is a known fact that those who experience a disability are not fully aware of their actions, and this was the case when Lennie snapped Curley’s wife’s head, his full intention was to make her go quiet, so he does not get in trouble but unfortunately, he did not know the strength he possesses. Thus, people who posses a disability are regrettably not conscious of their actions.
Finally, people with severe disability may require superior and never-ending care. There are many company’s which care for those suffer from a disability. A company which cares for people with a disability is ‘myagedcare’, this company provide many services which include home maintenance and notifications, help at home, allied health, respite care and independent living centres. Company’s and institutions like this can be very useful for people such as the disabled, as they might not have no family members to care for them.
