The article had main points that talked about the discrimination involving a person’s sex, race, religion, disability, color, and ancestry. It is an employer’s job to make sure that discrimination involving these scenarios don’t exist. This is similar to what was said in the text. The text refers to multiple acts set by Congress involving these different types of discrimination in the workforce. The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 were set to protect citizens with disabilities in the workplace so employers don’t provide help that’s necessary to allow these citizens to succeed. The Equal Pay Act of 1963 was also mentioned in the text of this lesson. This act was put in place so that discrimination of sexes would cease to exist. This is similar to HRS Chapter 389 that is set in Hawaii because it also prevents discrimination based on gender or sex.
