In Fahrenheit 451 Clarisse is a very important important character in this novel. Clarisse was a very influential person to many characters from the first page of the novel till even after her death. Clarisse was not your typical individual in this very dull and dystopian society. Clarisse was known to be an antisocial individual in this society. She was also is a very curious person as Bradbury shows us in the first couple of pages. Montag’s decision to turn away from Beatty and the fireman was stimulated by Clarisse’s actions. Clarisse asked Montag many questions asking like if he liked his job, and if fireman used to burn books back then. Clarisse also also asked if Montag ever read the books he burned. Another example is when Clarisse asked Montag “Are you happy?”. Montag did not give Clarisse any answers for any of these questions and ran inside his house.
