The image reflects that women were getting tremendous amounts of momentum from World War 1. They were working in jobs and showing everyone that they could do anything a man could do as well as be a functioning part of society. How did war jobs differ from traditional women's work? Explain. These jobs consisted of working in factories making war supplies like bullets. Trucks, tanks, and much more. Before the war, many women stayed at home and were house cleaners. They cooked, cleaned, and raised the children while the men worked in the factories. Few women worked in factories and the majority of them that did were receptionist or had other jobs without manual labor. The war jobs the women had were mainly hands on labor them was tough but rewarding work. Women would get dirt under their nails and do physical work. B.) 1. What were the effects of the Prohibition movement? Was it a success or failure? Why? The effects of the prohibition movement were that no alcohol was to be permitted to be sold in the United States. This, however, did not stick well with the rest of the nation. People still drank as much alcohol as before the bill was passed. They drank in secret and hidden away from the government’s eye. Overall the Prohibition movement was a complete failure, people started selling homemade alcohol, called moonshiners, and drank in secret. 2.
