Introduction The Disney Parks are an incredible showcase of technical innovation being driven by unrestricted creativity and curiosity. A quick glance around the park reveals some of the incredible efforts behind the parks development. Digging in deeper, we see technical advances behind the scenes. It is this combination of curiosity, creativity, and technology that has grown the parks into the wonders they are today. From the very inception of the parks down to the research going into the companies projects today, there has always been a close relationship between a childish curiosity and serious engineering work. My aim for this paper is to bring to the forefront some of the story that is normally hidden behind the scenes. Although Disneyland holds several great technologies and world firsts, Walt Disney World was designed, invented, and reimagined from the ground up. The original Disneyland location was a relatively small location, and since being originally built, large developments had begun to spring up all around the park. This new park would be an opportunity to build something different, with all the space that could possibly be needed. After taking research trips to multiple sites, Disney was impressed by the open expanses of land and the existing road infrastructure and highways.(citation) After working with land investigators, Disney started to buy land in the area through a series of dummy companies(citation). The land was originally able to be purchased for a low price due to it being underdeveloped farm land, with many of the purchases coming in at less than $100 an acre.
