While a few theories are not as regular, others have developed and are utilized as a part of numerous criminal reviews today. Cutting edge criminologists consolidate the most important aspects of sociology, psychology, anthropology, and biological theories to advance their comprehension of criminal behavior. Rational choice theory, psychological, biological, and strain theory are used to analyze the
Question Two When it comes to serial killers, Module 3 helps distinguishes between two different types: organized and disorganized. Organized serial killers are known for premeditating in their crimes. They plan their attacks carefully, select their victims deliberately, and use tactics to avoid being caught. They are typically intelligent, and socially competent.
The social deviance After watching multiple television shows, I noticed a connection of deviant behavior portrayed within fictional television. For example, the Dexter show. The Dexter show is about a man that is a blood analyst for the Metrolina police Department. Who has a family, yet is a serial killer at night targeting proper traders that has never been caught for their crimes by the law. For instance, in episode “Hello, Dexter Morgan”.
Majority of these cases involve offenders who murder for sexual reasons. Typologies are broken into categories to show differences in each serial murder case Gaines, Morton, Tillman, 2016, pg 4,7-8). Chapter 2 deals with study parameters and results. It involved charts and accurate information on the offender from examining activity at a crime scene such as motivation, method of killing, victim selection, etc. The charts generally will show the percentages of victims that were of a certain age group and the offender's ethnicity.
This theory is associated with the BTK killer because it’s based on personality defects that is caused by improper developement during the early years. The theory states that the criminal is not responsible directly for their behavior, but is blamed on non-conforming personality traits which include aggression, impulse, and discord. The BTK killer fits this description because he was able to maintain a normal appearing life while killing ten victims. He went to work everyday while representing a church as a deacon. The aggression and impulsivity of the BTK killer’s crime gave him a nice fit for personality
The U.S. increased their presence in Vietnam by either blatantly hiding details from the public, as in the case of the Diem assassination, or by manipulating details, as in the Gulf of Tonkin incident, which facilitated the government’s desire to contain communism and prove their military superiority. On November 2, 1963 South Vietnamese President Ngo Dinh Diem and his brother, Ngo Dinh Diem, were assassinated during a coup by Vietnamese generals. In the days following Diem’s death, the South Vietnamese people celebrated an end to his dictatorial leadership and oppression. However, the power vacuum lent itself to political disarray that required the U.S. to intensify their involvement in Vietnam to provide stabilization to the South Vietnamese

Kessel’s Insight: Did Card Create an Innocent Killer? Jon Kessel, the author of “Creating the Innocent Killer: Ender’s Game, Intention, and Morality”, a critical essay on Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game, has an interesting take on the morality of Ender’s character, and his supposed innocence in general. He compares many things to his own real-life childhood, as the main character is so relatable. Kessel’s essay is an extremely sharp-witted, eye-opening piece, as intended by him, that is important to the more ethically conscious audience.
Another frequent conclusion found through multiple serial murderers is the appearance of animal cruelty. A theory coming from how a child is raised, like when a mother is unfittingly putting sexual behavior towards her child. A person that lacks a history of healthy relationships seems to rely on different fantasies for a source of fulfillment. During a burglary, a culprit is commonly found to steal items like lingerie to relieve sexual needs. If the criminal’s needs are not satisfied, the incident may escalate to rape or possibly a
This abstract will discuss the strengths, weaknesses and differences of both data sources. To articulate the nature and extent of a crime, criminologists use records that are collected, compiled, and analyzed by government agencies such as the federal government’s Bureau of Justice Statistics (criminology
Criminals are mostly coldblooded and ruthless. This behavior disorientation can be explained by their psychological problems, or childhood trauma. Because of these, they are mostly isolated themselves from the society. There is no one to trust for the criminals. They mostly meet an irresistible female and plan the criminal actions with this main female character.
The Fatal Shots I was at yet another one of those student protests and they didn 't seem to solve anything. I wanted action! I wanted something to happen. I started to wonder if it was worth it anymore. At the end when everyone left, a shady looking man wearing a suit, sunglasses and a black hat approached me telling me to do away with these silly protests and if I truly wanted unity from Austria Hungary to join a secret force called the Black Hand.
Each offender has their own varied knowledge and skill set that influences the MO. Each offender expresses psychological needs differently. Individual crime scenes contain a multitude of variables that can influence an offender’s actions. Trying to differentiate between a criminal’s signature behavior and their offender signature, can be confusing. The pattern of MO
The film Never Let Me Go presents a story which a group of clones were born to donate their organs to save patients who needed transplant. They then died after a few times of donations. The case to me is that society in the film ‘killed’ some clones in order not to ‘let’ some people die. In this paper, I would like to reject that killing and letting die are morally equivalent and argue that killing is worse due to some distinctions between the two. James Rachels is one of the philosophers who think that there is no moral difference between killing and letting die.
Serial killers Jeffery Dahmer, Ted Bundy, John Wane Gacy, and many other serial killers all suffered from an extreme disorder called Antisocial Personality disorder (ASPD). In the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) are three different classifications of personality disorders: class A, B, and C. Class A personality disorders are characterized by outlandish ways of thinking reflected in their personality. Class B tends to contain disorders in which people have fluctuating behaviors and dramatic thoughts. Finally is Class C, and people with class C personality disorders tend to be more anxious and fearful, which makes it harder for these people to make connections with others. Antisocial personality disorder falls within
