Disrespect Among The World
Disrespect is a common theme among stories, books, and movies. This disrespect travels far out of those books and is clearly part of the world we live in. Humans are sick creatures that will go above and beyond to belittle someone, just to make them feel better about their own life.
In the short story “Marriage Is a Private Affair”, and the short story “Black Girl”, disrespect is a common theme. Both of these stories are highly different in theme and plot, yet still provide the same disrespect and hate to the characters in the story. Even though these people were disrespected in separate ways, it’s just as hurtful and dehumanizing. Though, this conflict is quite a powerful theme.
