I believe that books have a huge impact on my life, and I read so much that it’s very hard to pick just one book. If I had to I would pick the book Divergent written by Veronica Roth. This book really kept me on my toes the entire time reading it, but it really helped me to understand that through adversity, comes something great at the end. Tris goes through many things, but one of the worst has to be when she decides to join Dauntless and leave her family. She also happens to lose her parents in the process of fighting back against the government. At the end of the book Tris destroys the plans of the Erudites and saves everyone from dying.
At the beginning of the book Tris has to choose if she wants to stay with her family in her faction, Abnegation or choose to leave and be a part of a different faction. This meant not getting to see her parents and trying to fit into a new faction. Tris decides to join Dauntless and she has to go through rigorous training to see if she is good enough to stay in that faction. She overcomes her adversity of being away from her family by making new friends and focusing on her training that she has to complete. This is something that would be very hard for me to do, but when I read about Tris going through it, it really influences me to branch out and try new things. …show more content…

The Erudites brainwash everyone, but Tris is one of the ones who isn’t impacted by the serum they used to brainwash everyone because she is what is known as Divergent. Everyone that is brainwashed is starting to hurt people, and Tris meets up with her parents. Her parents try to help her but end of dying in the process, but instead of Tris just giving up, she continues to rescue people and decides to mourn later. This is so influential to me because Tris is showing how selfless she really is. I strive to be this selfless in my everyday
