Veronica Roth was born on August 19, 1988 in New York City, and was raised primarily in Barrington, Illinois. Her mother, Barbara Ross, is a painter who resides in Barrington . She is the youngest of three children. Her parents divorced when she was five years old, and her mother has since remarried to Frank Ross, a financial consultant for landscaping companies. Her brother and sister live in the Chicago area , She is of German and Polish descent. Roth says of her father: "He had a job, and worked far away. Now I have a good relationship with my stepdad". Her maternal grandparents were concentration camp survivors, whose religious convictions pushed her mother away from religion. The Book Divergent is a story about a town that is a society and they have five factions and the people as teens get divided to find out watch one they want to work for. But this sixteen year old girl name Tris has a hard time picking and tell she feels dauntless is what she should pick but what she doesn’t know is she is a divergent and that might coast her, families, and her friends life . The First thing I learned from this story is to make good choices because when decide she was going to be dauntless she had found out they hurt people and kill. She had also found out she would die if they found out she was a divergent. If I was her would have not picked dauntless for a job because they kill people and they judge people to and I don’t like people judging others because there different what if they were different they should think about that. But I think hiding how smart you are stupid because I would love to be smart because then It would be easy to do my school work right it’s hard to do homework every night. I wish I had a chance to help people because she saves some people and if I could be like her in this story I would be brave and strong like her. I was told when I was little be strong and brave no one can but you down only yourself can make you think like that. Being smart is not bad at all just some people know more than others watch is not bad I would love to know more than other people it just makes me smarter than other people and I’m okay with that.The Last thing I learned from this story. I think it’s dumb for boys to hit girls and the same girls to hit boys, hitting is stupid a specially if you hurt someone just because your mad do something different.
