Do-Nothing Co-Workers Do Their Work

Whether it’s flipping burgers at a restaurant, restocking the shelves of a supermarket, or selling fragrances in a department store there will always be that co-worker who slacks on the job. I call them the do-nothings. There are three types of do-nothing co-workers who find excuses to not do their work; the lazy bum, the negotiator and the want to be boss. The lazy bum is always full of surprises, the main one being how he got hired. You try to think up a scenario of how their interview went but you can’t come close to fathoming them putting forth the smallest amount of effort. This co-worker has two forms, the first being exactly what his description denotes; lazy. The second form of the lazy bum can actually be quite deceiving, this form is someone who shows extreme amounts of apathy towards not only their job but their co-workers as well. The worst part of this type of do-nothing co-worker is that when the boss or any type of higher up is around they jump to their feet in a blink of an eye and make it look as if they’re doing all of the work. They try to bribe you with things that you have absolutely no interest in, whether it’s offering to buy you lunch, sell to customers for you, etc. Possibly the worst trait about this type of co-worker is that they will make empty promises. They will say something along the lines of “Can you cover the start of my shift? I’ll be right back.” And of course they never come back or “If you show customers my product I’ll show them yours when you're gone”. However, there is one type of do-nothing co-worker that drives you up the wall and makes you bat-sh*t crazy, the “wannabe”
