These areas consisted of power and how to prepare for it, social clubs, the debutante season, and marriages. Although three of these only contain minor differences from other social classes, the upper class benefits greatly from them. These differences can be anywhere from how extravagant a wedding and its reception are, to having a special ceremony for transitioning into adulthood, or owning a membership to a prestigious country club, simply by having a high income and being a part of the upper class. They may be minor at first glance, but these can shape relationships with political figures and high-ranking business professionals. Then there’s power, the most influential thing an upper-class citizen can have possess.
Human history came about differently all over the world for the last 13,000 years because of simply of the environment in which each continent is located. Many people believe it is because of biological differences among the people around the world, but now we know that isn’t correct. The environment of each continent means different forms of language, diseases, political, religions, ect. They also have different species of animals and plants that one continent may not have come across. To get deeper into the subject, an example of how the environment created the differences is how the Inca and Aztec empires were overthrown by the 2 spanish explorers named CorteŽ and Pizarro and there crew of a couple hundred.

Journal Entry #3 Conflict Theory and Mean Girls The conflict theory is a theory suggested by Karl Marx, and this theory claims that conflicts will happen when status, and power are unevenly distributed between the groups in society. With the conflict theory it has two primary classes. The bourgeoisie who represents the people in society who have the wealth, and the proletariat the people in society who are considered to be the poor, working class people. A perfect example of the conflict theory would be from the movie “Mean Girls.”
In Ayn Rand’s novel Anthem, social class was shown to be destructive. In the novel, there was a time period called “ The Unmentionable Times” where men had social classes and they took advantage it. This ruined the community and destroyed it. However Ayn Rand wrote this novel to showcase that it is important to have social class because if we were all equal then our government would take away from a people’s individual rights. In the novel, the council was shown to have all the power by enforcing fear in their people.
Not only does the amount of wealth affect social class, but the type of wealth also affects it. It even affects where people live and who people marry as seen with Gatsby and Daisy. The characters social standing affect who they interact and how they are perceived by others. Fitzgerald highlights the different class structures like “New rich” and “Old rich” and the impact of wealth on the people’s lives in those classes. He also shows the superficial nature of the characters and highlights the value placed on wealth.
The inspector questions Priestley’s character's social and political views and exhibits to us how the upper class acted at this time. This is done by giving us characters who are very different from each other, the younger generation which contrast the older generation. Priestley uses this contrast to allude to how there is a shift towards socialism within the younger generation.
Thematic Essay- Society and Class Society and class is an important theme in “The Outsiders”, a novel written by S.E Hinton. “The Outsider”, is a book about two gangs, the Greasers and the socs who are rivals because of their economic and social differences. Throughout the book, S.E Hinton outlines that Socs, who have a better economic status are unaware of all of the other aspects in life and feel superior over the Greasers. In book, The Outsiders, it 's shown that a human society can be separated a society because of society and wealth.

The lower class works for their living and spends what money they have on things they need. Whereas the upper class, usually has a higher education and better paying jobs than the other classes in America. Thus, heritage plays a big part in reasons of social classes.
Social class played a key role in the Elizabethan Age; without social hierarchy society would have fallen apart, the people did not know of anything else other than the role of classes. Each class had different situations of life, some were wealthy and had nice homes while others were poor and living off of the streets. The class rankings were given to each individual by situations such as birth, fame, wealth, and known skills(“Elizabethan Era.”). One could only move up a class by the Queen's approval, obtaining sudden wealth, going into debt, losing your job, and many other specific conditions(“Elizabethan Era - The Lost Colony.”). For instance, marriage between two people from separate classes could alter social class and was often frowned upon.
Folk tales have been used again and again to continue the traditions from one generation to the next. In “Snow White”, the Brothers Grimm, show the power and struggle of the characters, and the differences between the lower-class and the upper-class. In “Snow White” Grimm and Grimm illustrate that the lower-class is struggling for a better life, even if they are always working and not having an equal economic situation. This is shown through the seven little dwarfs when they always work, but, unfortunately, the higher social class did not care about them. Using a lens of Marxist Literary Theory, I am going to critique the political power and economic struggle between the upper and the lower class in “Snow White”.
Social Class Social class assumed a significant part in the general public portrayed in Charles Dickens ' Great Expectations. Social class decided the way in which an individual was dealt with and their right to gain entrance to instruction. Yet, social class did not characterize the character of the single person.
