Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota is one of the largest Children’s Health Care facilities in the country. For my document design memo report, I have chosen “Preparing your child for surgery; a patient and family guide to surgical services”. The guides overall purpose is to explain to the child and the parents, how to “prep” for the child’s surgery. This guide explains how to help the child have a better understanding of what surgery is, making the surgical experience as comfortable as possible and explaining to the parents what they should know circumstancing surgery. This guide was sited from “Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota” website. Surgeons a perceived with specific stereotypes of arrogance, confidence, hostility and commanding. The creation of the guide was not necessarily a requirement. Two very important factors a Surgeon should have with their patient is a bond and trust. The guide does provide the impression the doctors do care for the patient’s concern and their emotional state. As a child, it’s obvious they are already confused and fearful of their procedure. The friendly layout of the document can assure the parent’s the child is in good hands. The layout of the guide provides information about the surgeons, of the hospital and an assurance that the facility is willing to do whatever is needed. The gentle tone produced in the text, endearing visuals and the use of bright color provides the charismatic sentiment within the
