Type of production Our media assignment is to produce a 9 minute documentary for the One Show on the BBC about any topic we want to talk about. As a group we decided that for our media assignment which is to make a 9 minute documentary for the one show we are going to do our video on Islam and the effect that the religion has received after recent events that have occurred in different countries such as Iraq and Syria carried out by Muslim extremist groups and also the negative effect of islamophobia in the UK today. We will be talking about the problems that we as a group have faced and the problems that have been brought up from the events in the Muslim community in Newcastle. We have chosen to do this because as we are Muslims we think …show more content…
Which makes us annoyed because the backlash is it comes back to hurt us in a certain way. So by making the short documentary we are hopefully going to show the people who watch it that Islam isn’t a violent religion but a peaceful one and we want to make people benefit by watching this. We also want to tell people the truth about the religion so that people don’t get bullied simply for following a religion like Islam. Our plan for this documentary is to go to Muslims in our local area and ask them questions about how they feel with recent events that have occurred in different countries as well as islamophobia. So we would need someone to record the questions being asked as well as the person who is being interviewed, we would also need an interviewer who will ask the questions and another person to edit the footage in order to make the video run smoothly. From there we will see what people think about Islam and see what the majority of people feel about these problems around the Newcastle community. But first we are going to try and interview an Imam (Islamic Priest) and other people we know before we go up to random …show more content…
For transport we will need the quickest way to get to the location we need to go to in order to film properly and promptly. It would give us more time to set up everything up and be prepared for the interviews with people who want to be interviewed. We will be paying at around £250 per day for the camera. This was the cheapest that we could get it for so it was the best deal as the camera is very high quality. The lights are £150 per day these will only be used if it goes dark and we need light to film. However it is good to have the light in case we end up needing it. The microphone is £50 per day as it is only a long stick with a microphone coming out of the top. This will be used if anything is to happen to the built in camera microphone. The editing equipment like the computers, have been hired for £25 per hour. So instead of us paying a daily fee we only pay an hourly one. We pay for the amount of time we use them for. We agreed with the company to pay £25 per hour. The wages for each member of the crew is the camera man will receive £860 per day he films. The interviewer will get £600 per day and the film editor will be paid £3000 for the full editing and effects he puts in. it is important to pay the crew a fair wage because it means the will work more
