Does a college education have value? This question is common among many young adults and even some older adults in today’s world. The answer to this question is yes, but there is so much more to consider when deciding on a college education, such as career goals, volunteering, financial needs, and scholarships. Personally I actually do have educational and career goals. I plan on attending DMACC for two years to receive an Associates of Arts in Business Administration. After receiving my degree from DMACC I plan on continuing my education at a four year university. After I receive my bachelors I intend on enrolling in the Menards manager trainee program. Once I complete the program I will relocate with Menards to further myself in the company. …show more content…
I have directly participated in two of my local youth groups, FCA, and Kids Klub. In my youth group I take pride in helping the under class men be more involved. Wether that means just simply starting a conversation with them or pushing them to farther themselves. In the FCA I strive to get more people to join so we can serve our community to the best of our ability. The challenging element of my life is my employment at Kids Klub. The satisfaction I get from making a difference in the lives of children absolutely out weighs the displeasure I get from the low wage I receive. Many of the staff lack the compassion to deal with the children. While I get pleasure from knowing that I may be changing their lives more than I could ever know. Teaching a 2nd grader to tie their shoes may not seem like an immense accomplishment but knowing that I gave this adolescent a life skill no one else has taken time to give him is. The feeling you get when you see him run to his parents and telling them that he learned to tie his shoes today is priceless. Knowing that in many years when he is grown he will remember me for teaching him such a simple task. The simplest things in life are often times the most
