The practice of segregation is still present in our growing society, but is now involving other minorities. Have you ever wondered if segregation still occurs today? Segregation is still around today. Segregation is a form of racism and it has decreased a lot since the 60’s, but is still common dilemma. The neighborhood where the public is already living or where citizens of other countries want to live, is being segregated. For instance, in the United States, the president, Donald Trump, has banned the incoming Islamic people from the United States. This ban is a form of segregation. People consider the “Ghetto” as an African American neighborhood. Some believe that there is a great deal of crime there. People also believe that the society living there are in poverty.
Schools are unintentionally segregating majorities and minorities using revenue and the need for diversity. In an article written in the Washington Post, it states, “Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia made a statement that offended some people. He suggested African-American …show more content…

It is to be proven that people with different race’s income is less than a white male’s income. According to Lee Bay, the author of the article, “Great Cities: Soul City's failed bid to build a black-run suburbia” states, “A senator for North Carolina, Jesse Helms, said McKissick was wasting and mismanaging money. Helms was a segregationist, who didn't believe black and white people should live, work and go to school together. He called Soul City an insult to the taxpayers of North Carolina and the country, and he demanded that the government study how Soul City's money was being used. Work on Soul City came to a near standstill.” This quote is just not showing how the workforce is affected by segregation, but also how schools, and just basic living is being affected by
