Hike, gee, haw, easy, whoa, on by. These are all mushing commands, they tell the dog rather to slow down, go faster, or turn. Dog sledding is a sport where one or more dogs pull a sleigh across snow or ice, and later used on land too. Most people think that the mushers use whips or neglect their dogs, but this is beyond true. According to foxnews.com, “Most mushers would starve themselves before they'd ever neglect their dogs.” I think we should have dog sledding put back in the olympics. In this speech I will be addressing the popularity, history, and number of countries that can host and attend in dog sledding. Only we can put dog sled racing back in the olympics.
Dog sled racing’s popularity is mostly in Alaska and colder countries/states. Most people think that dog sledding can only be in the snow, but that's not true, dog sledding can be anywhere at anytime. Dog sledding on land is simply called urban mushing. Over the past few years dog sled racing’s popularity has gone up, even on land. According to urbanmushing.com, “Urban mushing has gone up by 30% in the states, and in other warmer countries.” I feel that dog sledding has enough popularity to be put back in the olympics, as well as urban mushing.

This was because they didn’t know how to build and make vehicles that advanced, and horses and other rideable animals couldn’t last in the harsh weather.
