Between these two years, Arizona spent approximately 55 million dollars on health care for these dog bite occurrences. (Tang, Terry) Dog bites occur when aggressive dogs enter dog parks, a dog is provoked, or two dogs are fighting over something. The attacks that are present in most articles are typically of aggressive dogs targeting other animals.

A dog is a man’s best friend- a lot of people. Imagine you had some sort of mental or physical dissability. There are lots of ways you could get help, but a specific something sticks out the most. It is more of a someone than a something though. Dogs and lots of other animals improve lives in many ways such as aiding medical condition, lessen our stress, and help us do everyday or unusual tasks.
Dogs that get exercise have a better mental and physical health. According to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals states dogs that dont get exercise act out by barking and destroying things at home. Bad behavior in dogs is caused by being lonely and the lack of exercise. Having a dog park will benefit both the dog and the owner.
For as long as I can remember I have always had a dog to play with, whether it was to feed unwanted food to, play outside all day with, or to turn to for comfort when I needed it. They are there as a support system and are also always happy to see you when you come home. This
Breed selection legislation (BSL) is the regulation or banning of specific breeds of dogs in attempt to reduce canine attacks, and has become one of the biggest matters of disagreement regarding animal ownership. In Flanagin’s article “The Tragedy of America’s Dog: A brief history of the vilification of the pit bull,” the author successfully argues that the pit bull, one of the main breeds discriminated against by BSL, is unrightfully blamed for an uninformed and irresponsible people. Many soldiers and veterans come home suffering from PTSD. Overall, there are 44.7 million people who have suffered or are currently suffering from the disorder. About 11-20 every 100 soldiers and veterans that come back and have served have PTSD. There have been studies that show it has been going around for a long time and has been affecting many people from war and other different tragic events. All the way from ancient time to now.
An unsocialized dog is much more likely to attack another dog or even human. In New York City, they started allowing dogs off-leash in dog parks and saw a dramatic decrease in dog-bites per year. Before allowing dogs off-leash they saw as many as 40,000 bites per year, and after allowing dogs this freedom, those numbers decreased to as little as 4,000. Building a dog park would also aid in keeping dogs out of shelters. Over 2 million dogs end up at U.S animal shelters every year.
Gentrification is a fast growing process in most cities today. Displacement through gentrification has many side effects for low-income families. Gentrification is a major problem; it is the displacement of people of lower socioeconomic status and replacing them with people of higher economic status, raising the property rates on these gentrified properties so that the lower classes can no longer afford to live there and further creating social inequality among the citizens of our community. We take broken parts of town and convert them into lavish attractions for visitors and natives. These so-called broken parts of town have residents who can no longer afford to live in these parts.
