The purpose of this research is to determine how students set their foot in the nursing field and develop their skills into being a nurse as they pursue their degree. This research was through several articles written by other students and former nursing students. As the author conducted an interview with students, one important part of learning stood out to them. Beginning nursing students develop their skills by doing, learning, knowing, and speaking as they gain their professional nursing personality. By doing, learning, knowing, and speaking, each nursing student has their own opinion and ways to identify their selves as a nurse and how they learn.

Burke, they explained to us about the significances of how nursing students become professional. For this research, the National League for Nursing Education Competencies (NLNEC) created a method to help us all understand how nursing students develop as they attain their degree in nursing school. The NLNEC created a series of questions for students to write a response about their experiences when they first started the training and what stood out to them. The results from the research method came out to be that students developed their nursing skills through doing, learning, knowing, and through speaking. Each of these subjects had a significant response to it that explained to us all how nursing students become professional. By doing, learning, knowing, and speaking, I, too also believed that it is a major theme for students to learn
