In the United States of America, the average amount of fast food has more than doubled from the 1980’s to now in 2016. Americans are becoming diabetic at age 8 years old, which is not normal for an 8 year old. This is mostly caused by the Fast-Food companies who make it so easy to find at every street corner. They do advertising to make families with kids want to come and eat at their restaurants. By having a drive through, more families who are on the go want to stop by and get cheap food for the whole family. Children love the idea because it gives them a toy. Parents love it because it is cheaper for the whole family. But they do not realize how unhealthy and addictive the food can be. “Before 1994, diabetes in children was generally caused by a genetic disorder only about five percent of childhood cases where obesity-rated, or type 2, diabetes. To this day, according to the National Institute of Health, type 2 diabetes accounts for at least thirty percent of all childhood cases of diabetes in this country.”(4) This can be a result of these consumers and their families eating fatty foods that can lead them to serious health issues. These days, fast food restaurants are on every street corner with a drive through. Many Americans like these options because they are a quick and easy solution for food when they are on the go. These foods could lead to serious health problems for adults and children that live now as well as the next generation of children and adults too. Children should not be having these issues of getting diabetes this early in their life. These issues are mostly common in adults not in children but since children are getting these unhealthy issues it's not good for them at all. This type of lifestyle just gets them more and more unhealthier with their life and their health. When these children get used to this type of eating style, then they get older and getting closer to their 40 and 50 years old which affects them more then when they were younger. Children and adults need to take care of their health and especially very young
