R.L. Stine Essay BOO! Did I scare you? That is what R.L Stine, an author from Columbus, Ohio, aims to do with his novels. Stine has won many awards for his horror novels. These books are directed mostly at children and young adults. But don't make any mistake, these books are no joke. They are very scary even if they are for children. One of Stine’s books, “Don’t Stay Up Late”, is about a young girl living an average life, with her many friends and a loving boyfriend. Her life takes a scary turn however when she gets in a horrific car accident, in which her father dies and her dog is lost. She begins to hallucinate and see crazy things. She begins to work as a babysitter to take her mind off them, but this only intensifies her problems. Are these just hallucinations or is something much more sinister the cause?
