Hello my name is Michelle Thomas and my research paper I will be writing about to will be about Donald Harvey. Harvey was a notorious serial killer who is currently serving four consecutive life sentences in the state of Ohio at the Warren Correctional Institution in the city of Lebanon. His in mate number is A199449 and admission date was October 26, 1987. Harvey was born April 15, 1952 in Butler County, Ohio. In April of 1987 after the death of patient by the name of John Powell who happen to be comatose for an extended amount of time, once he started to recover but soon after died. During an autopsy the assistant corner noticed a scent of almonds which is a sign of cyanide. As the investigation went underway they realized that none of Powell friends and family had no motive to killing him, soon after the investigation started to led towards the employees in the hospital and who was able to gain access into the patients room. There has been other murders that have also killed out of sympathy that worked in the medical field, some would rather not see that person suffer others would simply do it out of pure amusement. It is like something clicks in their head and they feel as if it is okay to commit this murder and they are doing an injustice to the community. Nurses are notorious for murdering their patients because they can get very frustrated with them. There was an incident in the hospital before and a nurse was upset with a patient and roughly took out the needle that was in my arm and caused them to bleed even more because she could not go to lunch as she wanted to instead had to tend to my care. Another example is Charles Edmund Cullen who was a nurse and killed about 29-45 patients in his career as a nurse.
This is something that needs to be looked into more and more monitoring of how the nurses are able to treat their patients. There has been too many episodes where nurses just didn’t want to do their job like give meds when they were suppose to be administered or reporting when patients were in extreme
