There is always uncertainty when a new political leader takes office in America. The nations have always strived to come together as one and be one United States. When something or someone threatens the safety of Americans, we will automatically take action and try to eliminate the threat from creating peace and unity as a country united. January 20th, 2017 was the day candidate Donald J. Trump was inaugurated as the president of the United States. Although he did not win the people's vote, he did win the electoral college; making him the next president of the United States of America. This peaceful protest took place in Washington, D.C.. People from all around the nation heard about the comments and policies Donald Trump was expressing. Hundreds of women, minorities, and the LGBT community participated in peaceful marches, showing the government that as people living in the United States of America we have a voice (Enda). Hundreds and thousands of people all around the nation stood up for the injustice that our nation was facing. In an article written by Judi Enda, it states, “‘There’s never been anything like this,” says Eleanor Smeal, president of the Feminist Majority Foundation and a veteran leader of the women’s movement . In the article it also states, “I believe the culture has dramatically changed...The women who marched have become “self-mobilized,” O’Neill tells me. “We just have to give them the stuff to do. They are screaming…at is the one silver lining o4f all of this.’” This shows that even though hundreds of people have felt the effects of Donald Trump they still stand together to fight for what they believe
