Donatelli insists that “(Everybody wants to be the champion. That’s not enough.)”. He is trying to show how that if Alfred want to be a great fighter he will have to not just want to be great he will have to work for it. Donatelli need to have Alfred be determined to work hard and never give up. He needs to know that he is not wasting his time. In addition, Donatelli wants to knows more about Alfred. So he ask some question to see if he is a waste of his time, then one make him ponder about coaching Alfred. He finds out that Alfred quit school at eleventh grade, but the reason for it was what shocked him. Alfred said he didn’t see any reason to stay. So Donatelli think with that he can make the commitment of coaching Alfred, but he doesn't
