Suspect: Dorian Gray Dorian Gray is not a man to be trusted. He is a selfish man who only cares about what he believes to be beautiful. He is the central cause for many suicides and deaths. He is simply hateful man who actively pursues a life of crime and debauchery. He may be apart of the upper class, but he is by no means a gentleman. Dorian Gray is guilty of destroying the George Eliot book, Middlemarch. As mentioned in the previous paragraph, Dorian Gray is not an upstanding member of society. He may be handsome and charming on the outside, but on the inside he is a wretched and only wants to indulge in his own pleasures. He follows the path of a hedonist, which is the pursuit of pleasure and sensual self-indulgence. This may sound well and good, but this really just means he’s going to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants to. Even if it means that he could harm something or someone, he would do it if it meant he could indulge in his selfish desires. Many people have already been harmed because of his reckless behavior. Dorian Gray is already a criminal. As mentioned earlier, Dorian Gray led a double life, but this kind of lifestyle is very infamous. Men who had double lives lived normally throughout the day. But when night came, they would engage in homosexual activities. These kinds of activities were highly illegal during this time. If someone was caught in the act, they would be thrown into prison. Along with these activities, he also killed someone who was very close to him. This victim was trying to help Dorian because he could see he was falling down a very bad path. Instead of accepting his friend’s help, he stabs him the chest in a bout of rage. Dorian Gray is obviously no stranger to criminal activity, so who’s to say he wouldn’t do it
