We all need guidance sometimes. Everyone has had their moments where they don’t believe in themselves. Someone comes along and shows you that are who you dream you can be. Thus is why Dorothy from the Wizard of OZ is mentor in this movie. Dorothy was an individual who ran away from her farm home after Ms. Gulch has requested to put him to sleep. Dorothy is trying to find her way to the Wizard as she came along four others whom she observed need the same help. However, there are different stories to tell, each one has their own unique plot. She wasn’t sure where to go, she was looking around a confused and in a worried manner. Then a voice out of the blue says “Pardon me, that way is a very nice way”. Dorothy looks around franticly, not knowing who or what had responded to her. Dorothy beings to question “who said that” as Toto her dog starts barking at the scarecrow in the corn field. “Silly Toto, scarecrows don’t talk” Dorothy responded. Soon to find out the scarecrow was talking to her. Dorothy approaches the scarecrow and asks “Are you doing that on purpose or can’t you make up your mind?”. “That’s the trouble I can’t make up my mind. I haven’t got a brain, only straw” The Scarecrow responded. That is when Dorothy and the Scarecrow first interacted. Dorothy then helps the Scarecrow become free of the pole he was tied to. They begin talking and the Scarecrow express how much he wishes he had a brain and what he would do with the brain he had. The scene where the scarecrow shoes his brains is when he was picking apples and he comes up with strategic plan to save Dorothy. He has had a brain all along just never noticed it. They come a long “Why it’s a man, a man made out of tin” Dorothy shouts shockingly. The scarecrow and Dorothy begin banging on the tin man. They both gasp and the tin man murmurs as they were banging on his body. The tinman proceeds to murmur “oil can, oil can”. Dorothy and the Scarecrow us the oil can to un-rust the poor tin man. Dorothy tells the tin man “Well your perfect now”, “If you think I’m perfect bang on my chest” replied the tin man. So they bang on his chest and they hear the echo within, as his body was empty. The tinman states “It’s empty, the tinsmith forgot to give me a heart”. The Tinman goes on about what he would do and how he would act if only he had a heart. The Tinman used to be a real human, in love with one of the munchkins, but the Wicked Witch took that from him and eventually became the Tinman. Dorothy gets to thinking, she asks the Tinman if he would like to join them on the yellow brick road to see the wizard. The Tinman show he has a heart because he would cry and show emotion which entails that he does in fact have a heart.
