The speech given by Dr. Ariely, was unique in the aspect of demonstrating how the process of cheating functions. As he shared his personal story on the removal of his burned skin, comparing it to the habit of people testing their intuition on almost every action they make. Without noticing that if they will stop attempting to trust their intuition it will better the need to have to do something unnecesaary. He stated how the actions followed by their intuition many times lead to chosing the wrong decisions. Having them to suffer and learn from mistakes made unintentially. I can honestly relate to the main idea of his speech because he defined the way people feel peer pressured and tend to become followers instead of leaders. In my case, I belive his beliefs are correct and sustain the fact of following the actions of those around your circle. I can admit I felt pressed on behaving with small amounts of dishonor but had to understand through the hard way how it is never good to exceed the amount of little too much. Just as drugs are peer pressuring so is the lack of education, in which it leads to becoming overwhelmed and not trusting my natural human instinct. Dr.Ariely compared the economic behavior with the way humanity intuitions are usually wrong and don’t realize it until the mistakes made affect them personally. Definetely, the speaker cultivated a better aspect of the morals a person should carry in them. I believe, this speech would of made me realize how no matter of the situation, cheating should not be seen as a solution to my problems.
