He brought millions of dollars of grant and research money to the university of Vermont. Dr. Poehlman was accused of scientific misconduct by fabrication. He was found guilty, and sentenced to one year in prison, $180,000 in restitution, retraction of articles, and barred for life from receiving federal grants.
