The book ‘The Strange Case of Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde’ was written during the Victorian Era. Victorian Era is the time was a long period of peace, prosperity, refined sensibilities and national self-confidence for Britain. In ‘The Strange Case of Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde,’ one of the behavior that is shaped by Victorian society is that they always act properly and do not show too much favoritism to other people, even though it is known that they care about each other in a highest regard. For example, Dr.Utterson and his cousin Mr.Enfield cancel all their important works to have a walk with other. This Victorian world keep giving pressure and restriction towards Dr.Jekyll. And it cause that Dr.Jekyll created Mr.Hyde to express his bad feeling. Dr.j and Mr.H satisfied in other ways as well. Mr. Utterson, contribute to the rich texture of the novel. Also, the descriptions of Victorian London with contrasting districts of stately homes and deteriorating buildings and deserted, fog shrouded streets reflect the degeneration of Jekyll and create an air of mystery and impending horror. In 'The Strange Case of Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde', it shows the differences between this two textures clearly. In the book, it described Dr.J as 'He was usual cut and dry apothecary, of no particular age and color, with a strong Edinburgh accent, and about emotional as a bagpipe. He was like rest of us'. In the contract, the description for Mr.H is 'there is something wrong with his appearance; something displeasing, something downright detestable.
