As we have been learning from our psychology that positive behaviours are learned from other people and through education too. Adapting to new forms that offer support and motivate the sick is a positive move indeed. So, if blogging about chronic ailments brings about positive change then it is worth doing. My opinion is this new way of sharing emotion and experience is much convenient, cheap and may save one from stigmatization.

In our reading from Dr Ogden. J (2017) coping strategies vary with individual as they face stress and pain.

The two main action to participate problem solving are according Ogden. J (2017) Approach coping involves confronting the problem, gathering information and taking direct action. In contrast, avoidant coping involves minimizing the importance of the event. People tend to show one form of coping or the other, although it is possible for someone to manage one type of problem by denying it and another by making specific plans. Ogden. J (2017)

Social support: Social support also moderates the stress / illness link and has been defined in terms of perceived comfort, caring, esteem or help one individual receives from others.

A number of studies indicate that social support relates to health in terms of birth complications, coronary heart disease, mortality and immune function. Ogden. J (2017)
