Dr. Seuss is one of the most iconic poets in the history of poetry that has written over 60 books throughout his career. Dr Seuss is unique to other poets because he made funny simple poems that children seemed to enjoy very much. They teach children how to read, spark their imagination, and teach them morals. Theodor Seuss Geisel better known as Dr, Seuss was born on March 2, 1904, Springfield, Massachusetts, United States. As a child he loved to read comics, write funny poems, draw cartoons, and spend countless hours in a zoo. After a few years he left home to go to Dartmouth College and became the editor in chief of their magazine. After he graduated from Dartmouth college he went to Oxford University where he met Helen Palmer whom he got married to. When the couple returned to America Geisel started working full time as cartooner. He created various illustrations and articles for several different ad and magazine companies. In 1942 the couple purchased an old observation tower where geisel would write his books. After Helen died Geisel married Audrey Dimond. Since Audrey was a film producer she had a big influence on Dr. seuss since she had helped create many of Dr. Seuss's films. Over the course of his career Dr. Seuss also won several awards.
