Drake is best known for rapping and acting, he played the role of Jimmy Brooks in Degrassi: The Next Generation. People think that his songs revolve around drugs and money, but actually most of them don’t. Most of his songs revolve around his own personal life and his feelings about situations. He became a phenomenon after one of his first albums, Thank Me Later went platinum in 2010, this album was issued through Young Money Productions, it featured collaborations with Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne. Thank Me Later debut at number 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and was certified platinum by the recording industry Association of America. That same year his mixtape So Far Gone peaked at number 6 on the U.S Billboard 200 chart and won a Juno award for rap recording of the year. A year before that, in 2009, “Best I Ever Had”, a promotional single had climbed to number 2 on billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart. In 2012 Drake provided the voice for Ethan on Ice Age: Continental Drift, that same year while on tour, Drake announced that he had started work on what would be his 3rd studio album. Nothing Was The Same, was released the following September, it topped many charts around the world and was short listed for the Polaris Music Prize and was nominated for a Best Rap Album Grammy. This album won a Juno Award for Rap Recording of the Year and a BET Hip Hop Award for Best Album of the Year. After the album's success he hit the road on an extended tour, he took in part some collaborations, and released a few singles including “0 to 100 The Catch Up”.
