In my major (Photography) drawing is a beneficial tool that can help a photographer in the industry. In the industry a photographer has to be able to express clearly their ideas and their ideas can be illustrated for the other members by drawing. As well to be able to have a clear understanding of form and value can immensely benefit the photograph that is being taken. Drawing 100 has benefited my art greatly because understanding the composition, form/gesture, and value are the most useful aspects for a photographer to take away from drawing foundations. Without the proper ratio and perspective, the composition would be skewed and not make any sense. Having learned the different elements of composition and line in drawing helps when trying to show photo compositions. Form and Gesture likewise can be related to photography. Gesture and form are defined by the use of such movements to express thought, emotion, etc. and form are defined by something that gives or determines shape; a mold. Learning at the beginning of the class how to properly gesture a form is crucial for a photographer in the work force. When creating a photograph understanding how to properly gesture and form a photograph is crucial when trying to express your thoughts without only using words. This became prominent when we first started to understand how to draw the first still life. Before we could finalize our composition we had to gesture out all of the shapes that we believed were placed in the right place. I didn’t know how to draw a pumpkin, squash and branch at first, but I gestured where I believed each shape should be placed and continue on to form I was able to turn the gesture sketches into a full-fledged piece of work with proper texture, form, and
