Dress Code Debate

Dress code is one of the most famous debates of all time; many girls have come forward and are using social media to address the sexism throughout schools. These dress codes share one common link, which is a bias towards the boys. Boys break dress code every day, and they usually never are punished, and this is atrocious! The girls fighting for equality within these crazy, sexist, very controlling codes totally are not doing much to change this. They are just writing articles, spreading the word about it on social media, writing to administrators, and trying to change the way schools think. They do all this work, but still are ignored by administrators. Why must we let these administrators control our own bodies? It is like letting someone …show more content…

The solution to this problem throughout our school systems is to make it a rule to come to school naked every day. This will replace the horrid list of rules to just one, no clothes. Administrators will have to strongly enforce this rule, and if they do come to school with clothes on, they must be punished harshly. In other words, breaking dress code will not be a thought in the student’s wicked, adolescent minds. Correspondingly, their gender will not matter in this environment because of the one rule that has replaced the rest. In addition, we are breaking the sexism quota in the dress codes implanted into our minds and this is a big step towards salvation! Something equally important to address is the children who are uncomfortable with doing this at first. Schools may allow them to wear their underwear at first and then they must transition to fully nude. What if I want to wear my pants around my chest? That’s a nerd style. Nerds are usually pretty smart. Are the schools now frowning upon smart people doing well in school? What about Steve Erkel? Would he be punished for wearing his pants too high? Also, what is up with the “No spaghetti straps”? How can you possibly ban a garment named after food? But do not worry at least we have this rule in place because shoulder showing is crazy. I mean talk about provocative, and attention seeking. All of these crazy rules will be replaced with only one beloved rule, no clothes. You can count on this rule to not discriminate against food named garments, and nerds. Moreover, out of 135,000 people only 2% of them said their schools have no dress code. In addition, 48% of them answered to having a moderately strict dress code, and 14% said a very strict dress code (Dress codes Growing… 1). These statistics show how much a dress code is enforced in American schools, and influencing this sexist environment. Correspondingly, students seeing each other naked everyday will help with
