Driving drunk is a very serious and very real thing. Drinking is definitely not a good thing, but if you drive after you do so, it is even worse. It takes about twenty to forty minutes for the alcohol to reach your stomach and go through your bloodstream up to your brain. Once it does reach your brain, your judgment of distances, speeds, and movements of vehicles around you is impaired. You will even have a hard time with your own car, because you won’t be able to control it like you normally do. Even if you do not drink that much or at all, you may still encounter some drunk drivers. They even stay drunk if they keep having another drink every hour. It is a horrible thing if alcohol and drugs are taken at the same time. The alcohol will react very differently in your body because it will have an effect on the drugs that no one can predict. A police officer may pull you over because s/he believes you are not driving safely, and this is probably because you are on drugs or are drunk. If he does ask you to take a test for the drugs or alcohol, and you refuse, even if it’s prescription medication, your license might be revoked.
