The Driving Age Should Be Raised Essay

Should the age limit for driving be raised for teens in america? I believe that the age limit should be raised, because I believe the driving age limit should be raised to 18, because young drivers under 18 gets involved in many car accidents and the american statistics shows that they are, also younger drivers tend to get irresponsible on the road when they get their license. young drivers under 18 get involved in many fatal crashes.

First of all, they become very distracted on the road the statistics shows that younger teen mind is not fully developed, “in 2008 12% (5,864) of the drivers involved in fatal crashes (50,186) were young drivers 15 & 20 yrs old”. i have seen many times on tv or school videos where they play many scenarios

second of all they allow themselves to do many things like change the radio, Listen to loud music, Peer pressure. “Many young drivers specifically 16 year old drivers receive their permit and license and go crazy with it”. I seen in many movies and TV shows when many teens on the TV overly excited about their license and blow it off by disrespecting the rules on the road by making their own rules which makes them go out of control on the road and lose control and i also see that young drivers act wild when they are under pressure with other drivers or associates to do stunts, race, diss obey the law and rules on the road that leads to many bad scenarios where the driver ends up hurt, dead, or paying for a ticket which most of the time they are hiding from parents. on the negative side some believe that its not the teens fault that they are peer pressured to do things they do but it say it clearly in the law for on road drivers that “you are responsible for anything that goes on in or outside of your vehicle” these are the people that claims they are responsible because they want to be able to drive. thats another reason why i believe the law should raise the age
