The Most Exciting Time in Baseball Baseball is America’s pastime. The game that once was based on honesty and good character changed to a game of lying and chemistry during the 1990’s. The 1990’s and the early 2000’s was a time in baseball full of monstrous home runs, exhilarating RBI’s, and steroids. During this time, the players loved and idolized the most like Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, and Sammy Sosa were also the ones destroying the great game of baseball.
If you have taken a performance enhancing drug you shouldn’t be allowed into the hall of fame, because it takes away from the accomplishments of others who felt they didn’t need the drugs to succeed in whatever sport they were involved in. Athletes who used performance enhancing drugs do not belong in the hall of fame. What are performance enhancing drugs? Performance enhancing drugs are substances such as steroids, monkey testosterone, federally banned alcohol, and etc. These drugs help you perform in an exceptional way when you are hurt, wanted to relax during a long season, or simply just perform better.
Ultimately, steroid has had a negative effect on every aspect of the game. From the players, to the fans, and to the sport. Steroids have negative effects on the total outlook of baseball which could lead to spectators to not buy tickets to games. Baseball needs to be cleaned up so players are using natural talent they build up through practice and hard work.
Drugs are a big issue in the sports industry. Many athletes will take performance-enhancing drugs, such as steroids, to help them play better. These types of drugs should not be allowed because it gives the player a greater advantage over other players who are playing with their natural ability. This issue could be solved if there was monthly drug testing and if the drug was not so easy to get ahold of. Many major league baseball players are getting caught using performance-enhancing drugs.
The use of PEDs in professional sports is also an ethical dilemma. PEDs users clearly have a leg up on their competitors that they achieved unnaturally. They are taking a short cut to achieve greatness and that’s unethical in sports. Is it right to play against competitors while taking a substance they aren’t taking? Shouldn’t sports be as fair as possible to everyone?
Most athletes would do anything to win or be better than their opponents. The athletes that are using steroids are cheating by increasing their strength. Punishments should be increased so people stop using steroids and so the playing field equals out (preposition). Athletes should be allowed to use steroids in sports, legally.

People take steroids because it helps them build muscle quickly and perform more effectively at top levels. However, they are considered cheating by many sports enthusiasts, and they are banned from use because no organization wants to lend its support to a practice that leads to severe health risks for the sake of improved athletic performance (Hirby). This quote stated above describes how it is in-fact cheating to use steroids in pro sports as believed by sport enthusiasts and many fans.
Taking pills and injecting testosterone are popular ways that athletes use PEDs. The whole reason that athletes choose to take these drugs is because of the unfair advantages they gain. Athletes take these drugs knowing it will increase their athletic ability and decrease their rest time. Anyone that knowingly takes a drug that will increase their ability is not playing their sport the acceptable way, and obviously this glorified cheating should not be allowed. The list of the substance goes on and on, varying from steroids to black tar heroin, but the following are the leading illegal substances player used, Marijuana, cocaine, alcohol, stimulants(amphetamines, ephedra), steroids, and HGH (human growth hormone). There are various reasons why drug test happens and should happen in the sports industry, first the list is cheating. There is an undeniable fact that drugs such as steroids and HGH(Human Growth Hormone), can greatly assist the production of testosterone in a person. Testosterone is a hormone that regulates and helps produce muscle mass, bone mass, and muscle strength; hence many people use this drug with the intention of increasing their strength.
In conclusion, Performance Enhancing Drugs should not be tolerated in any sport, whether professional or amatuer. These drugs are highly dangerous and even lethal to all athletes who use them. It is also unfair to athletes who choose not to use these drugs, as they are performing on their hard work and talent and not relying on an “edge” to help them reach their goals. These drugs are highly addictive, just like any other street drug or alcohol and can be fatal in many cases.
Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs) have been used in sports for many years. The common term for it is doping. It is one of the most important issues among professional athletes today. Doping should not be allowed in professional sports. The use of performance-enhancing drugs creates a disadvantage for the athletes that don't use PEDs since they will not perform as well as the athletes that used the drugs during the game or competition.

This paper will use several ethical theories as the bases of the pro and con arguments and conclude with a reason for supporting either a pro or a con argument.
