Violence Due to Drug Cartel Just because you don’t see something doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. There’s a lot going on around the world and even more conflicts. Some main conflicts are poverty, politics, resources, governance, and etc. A few minor conflicts are drugs, medicine, technology, and more. Drugs are everywhere and there’s no way to stop having them around. Territory is something everybody wants but can’t have it all. Well, in Mexico territory is a huge thing that their people are willing to kill each other for it. They want to use the territory for drugs so they can keep their multi-billion dollar drug industry booming. The women are thought out to be non-suspicious when going through airport security or crossing the border. Some women want to be in the cartel for the money and some are being used as mules. There were 2,143 Mexican women that have been arrested in the U.S. over the past decade for involvement in drug trafficking. Some women have been raped, kidnapped, and killed for either not getting the job done or the littlest thing. These cartels have the power to control families especially the women who have children. Going through Mexico can be dangerous and risky. Immigrants get kidnapped for ransom or smuggled in to get drugs in the U.S. Bodies are always found, both men and women and young teens due to cartels wanting them to traffic drugs across the border. Smuggling groups get a lot of money out of immigrants and their family. Most of the immigrants are from Central America. The value of human smuggling industry is $35 billion. The women who make it past the border, which is rarely, are forced into cooking, cleaning, and performing sexual acts for multiple men. These girls are taken as young as 11 to 16; some of these girls never see their family again. Recruitment of children are as young as 11 years old. Cartel bosses will send the kids on suicidal attacks against the security forces. These kids will go into camps which were discovered in the jungles along the Guatemalan border. Weapons range from AR-15 riffles, Uzi submachine guns, .38 pistols and more. Between 2008 and 2011, 564 minors were arrested trying to cross the border between Tijuana and San Diego to sell drugs.
