1. The main way that September 11th, 2001 changed globalization in American business is the greater emphasis on international cooperation. The ease of communication is made the world seem “smaller”. Although the tragedy that took place on that day, the world for a moment became unified. This unification improved the political, social, and economic relationships of countries around the world-globalization.

2. There are five main groups that are impacted by the “globalists versus anti-globalists” debate: consumers, employees, environment, developing nations, and human rights. Consumers are impacted by this debate because globalization lowers prices of products, but also widens the wealth gap. Employees are als0 affected; the pro of globalization is faster economic growth which leads to higher wages, but the con is that globalization places more importance on profits than people. Drug testing in the workplace is an extremely controversial topic. Advocates of drug testing push the cost that drugs will cause to the company. Drugs that alter employee behavior can cause accidents, injuries, and even theft. The greatest cost that drugs within the workplace can cause is immeasurable cost-lives. If an employee of Delta Airlines was on pain medicine not prescribed to him/her, he/she could very easily cause an accident in the air or on the land. The proponents of drug testing are more concerned about the public’s safety over employee’s privacy. The challengers of drug testing in the work place emphasize the inaccuracy of the test. Many medications and foods can give a false test reading which can often lead to the employee’s termination or loss in pay.
