Mr Najariyan is charged with one (1) count of attempting to abduct a child. The complainant is Nicola SHARMAN, a child who at the time of the alleged offence was aged 14. 4. The case is fixed for a three day trial at Guilford Crown Court on the 20 March 2017 whereupon Counsel is instructed to represent the defendant. Background of the case 5. On the 22 July 2016 a call was received by police at 1926hrs from the complainant stating that a male had followed her down an alley, continually asked her to get into his car, offered to buy her vodka and dinner and generally harassed her for 20 minutes. The complainant gave details of the car the suspect was driving as a purple Smart car, index GK07 XCL and described him as a male with dark yellowy skin, a beard, early twenties, 5ft 5in in height, wearing a blue top, cream shorts and trainers. 6. …show more content…

An ABE interview was conducted with the complainant and her brother, Kane SHARMAN the day after the incident (23 July 2017). The interview lasted 40 minutes and 12 minutes respectively and both were consistent with the accounts given to the attending officer.
