Rigour To ensure rigour, the quality of the data obtained, and the data analysis will be reviewed by the Oxford Brookes ethics committee and the dissertation supervisor prior to commencing (Claydon, L.S., 2015). The established BIPQ was chosen as it has been used in multiple languages in over 188 studies and with various age groups and illness types (Broadbent et al., 2015). The BIPQ was derived from the original Illness Perception Questionnaire (Weinman et al., 1996). Patients given both the BIPQ and the IPQ showed similar results, displaying concurrent validity (Broadbent et al., 2006) and consistency with the self-regulation model (Leventhal et al., 1984).
I was initially exposed to the field of osteopathy at the end of eighth grade when I visited the Queens Hospital for appearance of skin rashes. Unlike other physicians, I had seen previously regarding this condition, the osteopathic physician treating me at the moment did not dismiss me with just another ointment. Instead the physician took a detailed history and tried to investigate the underlying causes of the rash, not just my symptoms. Due to the physician’s reconnaissance nature, I was able to receive a correct diagnosis. Even though the rashes turned out to be from bed bugs’ bites, the physician’s approaches to medicine inspired and motivated me to further research the field of osteopathic medicine.

There are numerous types of therapy to treat with the disorder, it just depends on how severe the patient’s symptoms are. Some types of therapy that might be needed for a patient may include: psychotherapy, cognitive therapy, and clinical hypnosis. The prognosis for people with dissociative fugue is that it usually doesn’t last very long, maybe a few days or a few months. It just depends on how much treatment is needed.
