The dust bowl was a big problem in the 1930s-the 1940s. The dust bowl took place in the southern plains of the united states. It was cause because the farmers in Kansas,Oklahoma,Texas,New Mexico over settled the prairies which cause the loses soil to be moved by winds . what caused the dust bowl was strongs winds,over settling, and it made the skys dark for awhile. The farmers in Kansas, Oklahoma,Texas, New Mexico over settled the land in these states it make the soil lose and able to move. The land was also dry because they didn't get no rain for a long time . them not having rain make it worse because the soil was dry and the over settled it did not help it any. The rain did not come make the soil losing you more than it had already.
