Dwight Eisenhower, the 34th US president was faced with many difficult challenges in his two term presidency, and carried the nation on his shoulders. Dwight used his power to serve and protect his citizens with his powerful leadership, accompanied by his strong, but peaceful demeanor. Dwight D. Eisenhower was born on October 14, 1890, in the town of Denison, Texas. He was one of seven boys in his large family. Although young Dwight was born in Texas, soon after his birth his family packed things up and moved to Abilene, Kansas, which he considers his home town.
