There are numerous writings about dystopian and utopian societies. Some of the famous writings about dystopian societies are “1984”, “Handmaid’s Tail”, and “The Hunger Games”. Some of the famous novels that is about utopian society are “ The Republic” , “Laws” , and “ Utopia”. These societies differ a lot. It differs in the description of the people’s living conditions, type of government, and authority; however, they do share some similarities. A dystopian society in literature is defined as the oppressive societal control. The description of their life is their freedom is very restricted , they have certain ideas and beliefs that the government convinced them of by using propaganda. They are living in a dehumanized state, they have no rights. Anyone who rebels against the government is executed. Also, in they live in social classes. The high class live comfortably, while the low class are suffering from unpleasant working conditions. In other words equality doesn’t exist. While, in a utopian society the people’s life conditions are perfect. Freedom is provided for everyone. They have rights, it is a place where humanity exists. In this perfect world equality exists. Everyone is equal, and everyone has rights. Also, the working conditions are perfect , people are going to work happily. The idea of the utopian society was presented in the book “Utopia” by Thomas Moore. In his book utopia’s setting is described as a place where the sky is blue, warm and bright sunlight, living with friendly and happy individuals, and working in clean, spacious buildings. While, in the dystopian society it is completely the opposite. The sky is dull, the sun may not be shining, the buildings are ruined, and the people are annoying and
