In the play the Christmas Carol, you come across a man, important character in fact, Ebenezer Scrooge. Scrooge wasn't just an ordinary guy. This man was just about to have his life changed forever. In the play we know him as a mean, grumpy, old man. In the course of the play , Scrooge encounters 3 ghosts. Past, Present, and Future are their names and they helped alter Ebenezer. In the first quarter of the play Scrooge is grumpy and selfish. He only cares about himself and he absolutely hates Christmas. To him it is nonsense and unrighteous. The last quarter of the play he is cheerful and a delight to be around and starting to like Christmas. I will take you through Scrooges development and the cause to why he acts this way.
