Ebola is a virus was discovered in Yambuku, Sudan in 1976 by Dr. Peter Piot. It is a very harmful disease causing mass causualities. People have to take a lot of precautions to make sure that it doesn’t spread, so people don’t die. Most of my family lives in Cameroon, Africa.
Although Cameroon was not affected, Africa is the continent that has had countries with Ebola outbreaks. Knowledge of Ebola, how it developed, its causes, treatment, and knowing the science behind this disease can lead to fewer outbreaks. Ebola is not only a very harmful and deadly disease, it spreads very quickly as was shown in the cases that made it to Spain and to the U.S.A.

To keep good controls on an outbreak, a person must know everyone that has or has had Ebola, health care workers must follow laboratory safety protocol, families need to practice safe burials, inform the community, and most importantly people should be informed of the disease and
