What does it mean to be developed? Introduction:
A MEDC (More Economically Developed Country) is a country that is rich and has high standards of living and quality of life. On the contrary, A LEDC (Less Economically Developed Country) is a country which is developing and has a poor quality of life and standard of living. Netherlands is considered to be an MEDC and Chad is considered to be an LEDC according to several indicators of development.

GDP per Capita:
The GDP per Capita is the measure of a countries economic output divided by the countries total population.
Netherlands:

“Chad currently has a population of 14,989,002.” Like Netherlands, Chad also has a low population but Chad has a low GDP per Capita which shows that the people of Chad do not earn a lot of money making standards of living and quality of life low. “Chad’s unemployment rate is not assessed and the population below the poverty line is 46.7% in 2011 est.” This shows that Chad is such an undeveloped country that surveys are not done often to gather information on employment and population below the poverty line. Nearly half of the nation was below the poverty line which emphasizes on the poorly developed country. Chad has a very low GDP per Capita. There are very millionaires in Chad if any which shows that the population does not earn a lot of money. Chads government is also corrupt and greedy to what money is available to them which decreases the GDP per Capita. Chad has an inflation rate of -1.3% showing how poorly developed in terms of economy Chad is as the prices are rising. The figures above so how undeveloped Chad is as majority of the population is living in unsanitary conditions which increases the spreading of diseases and infections around. Furthermore most sewage and rubbish in Chad ends up in the water as Chad has no development in pipes to lead the water elsewhere and keep the water clean.

This means how many people are working in each of the sectors of the employment structure.
