Throughout the term in BPBE 272 there has been many important skills I have learned to help me pursue my goal in University. I have learned all key concepts of economics and also learned how to use them in my everyday life. This class has gave me tremendous help on how to look at the world in the way an economist does. You have taught us in a way that did not require us to just memorize the material but to actually take the time to learn about the information we are given. I will explain the main points I have learned in this class, what it means to have learned all of the information, How I have changed my perspective on economics, how I can apply my knowledge in the workforce and why this course was so important to me.
Stephen Dubner and Steven Levitt have successfully entertained me with their novel, Freakonomics, which talks about economics in an in-depth and analytical level. The authors attempt to challenge subjective truths at face values, show how data can be rearranged, and how there is always a hidden side to everything. They attack every day aspects of life to shine humanity on figures we regard as untouchable and they are challenging the normal, hackneyed rhetoric about the way the world works. Ultimately, the authors make the world more inquisitive by offering statistics on subjects in order to look at an issue from a different perspective, they use economic approaches to analyze the connection between disciplines, and they offer insight to the deeper causes to major influences in history by appealing to authorities.
Definition of economics The study of how man and society choose, with or without the use of money, to employ scarce production resources to produce various commodities over time and distribute them for consumption, now and in the future, among people. Economics is interested in: How are choices made? How choices ought to be made?
What is Economics? Since economic is a drive force of human interaction studying it often reveals why people and government behave in particular ways. Anything that related in money is called economic.

Trust and credibility are built, and continuously grow.
Economics, a science concerned with the factors that determine the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services, is obviously a large part of politics. One political forum in which economics is discussed is the presidential debates. On Monday, September 26, 2016, presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton engaged in one such debate. Among other things, they discussed the four components of supply side economics (land/resources, labor, entrepreneurship, and capital) and the four components of demand side economics (consumption, investment, government spending, and international trade).
The purpose of this essay is to argue whether "economics is a friend or a foe of ethics". A concept discussed by Norman Bowie, A.K Gavai and Milton Friedman. Before moving into further detail, what is economics and ethics all about? According to the dictionary, "economics is the science that deals with the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services or the material welfare of human kind." Whereas ethics are the "values relating to human conduct, with respect to the rightness and wrongness of certain actions and to the goodness and badness of the motives and ends of such actions".
Economics plays a part in everything, it's what makes the world go round. In movies it's what makes them relatable and realistic if the movie is based on a true story. Some movies use more economic principles than others depending on the story it tells the audience. In the movie "Iron Man" economic principles like open opportunity, free contract, externalities, and producers, are used to help convey the story.
Going forward a liberal arts education will be key for me to attain my goals. Specifically a Hollins liberal arts education. I am interested in pursuing pre-law, creative writing, art, and equine studies. At a typical technical based studies program I would be unable to study and learn what I 'm passionate about. It has been said that if you choose a job you love you will never have to work another day, and I fully intend to live my life with zeal doing what I love and am truly passionate about, and a liberal arts education will help me achieve that.
he said that it 'becomes like photographing words'. He believed that Eisenstein and other Swedish silent film directors were a lot more visual than any recent films.(Nykvist 1998) The close-up shot is often taken for granted and is used everywhere and sometimes used for no particular reason other than being a safety shot. However, it has only been taken for granted after decades of establishment. "It(close-up) does not only reveal new things but gives meaning to the old"(Balazs 2009).One of the most obvious functions of a close up that a close up does is that it makes one notice elements not noticed before and by doing that it is more revealing of things that one takes for granted.
As a dreamer and queer woman of color, pursuing a career in STEM has been quite challenging. But I have never let anything get in the way of reaching my goals and dreams. I have swam against the current in order to be where I am today, where I have dreamt of being. I am currently a second year student at Trinity Washington University majoring in biochemistry and minoring in mathematics. I am a dedicated student and an analytical and skilled critical thinker who is eager to learn.
Learning history is always important as it reveals our mistakes and grants us the opportunity to learn from our mistakes. My understanding of the history of economics will serve as a useful base-knowledge as I continue on my studies in economics. In my third and fourth year of university, I will broaden my field of study to an international level. As I have mentioned previously, I plan to learn international economics through classes such as International Trade or International Finance. Moreover, I will take business-related classes funded by corporates to get familiarized with industries in Japan and the real-world problems that they face.
My interest in Accounting stemmed from my optimistic expectation about career development in this field. Accounting is so important in the business world that only on the basis of accounting information, management is able to make investment decisions, and optimize internal operation. Thus, it is widely applied to every business sector. However, due to a strange combination of circumstances, I was matriculated by Biology and Medical Engineering College, instead of the Economic and Management College, in which I could accumulate the knowledge that would allow me to realize my career ambition. Changing major was not easy to operate in our university.
