People all around the world still read the work Edgar Allan Poe. Edgar Allan Poe was a great American poet and best known for his horror stories. Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston, Massachusetts January 19, 1809 (Lachman). He was the son of David Poe Jr. and Elizabeth Arnold. Poe’s parents David Poe Jr. and Elizabeth Arnold were both professional actors (Fisher). He was one out of three kids Edgar Allan Poe had one sister named Rosalie Mackenzie Poe and a brother named William Henry Leonard Poe. When poe was six years old his father abandoned his family.(Poe,Edgar) A year later his mother passed away, after his father left his family. Therefore Poe was raised by John Allan and Frances Allan. Edgar Allan Poe started to have problems as he got into drinking alcohol and he started to do drugs to where he got addicted. Edgar Allan Poe soon started to recover from all his personal problems. But Edgar Allan Poe most famous horror story was “The Fall of the House of Usher”. “The Raven”, “The Pit” and “The Pendulum” those were the most known and unforgettable tales he’s done.(Poe,Edgar) Poe’s First prize (Fiction) Balmore Saturday. Edgar Allan Poe’s wife Virginia later passed away Poe was really heartbroken and so sad that his wife has passed away.(Fisher) So Poe stop what he love doing most was write more poetry and stories. He stopped for a year and a half. But later on time passes by Poe has found something to continue his works. Which was that Virginia’s death gave Edgar Allan Poe encouragement, strength and ability to write a story of how much he loved and cared for his wife Virginia . Edgar Allan Poe poetry about Virginia’s death was best known for his works. In my opinion the book “The Raven” is one of my favorites from Edgar Allan Poe because it has some horror, thriller, mythological, religious, excitement and classical references. The book is about further instigate his distress with its constant repetition. Poe died from a complication related to the brain lesion. Edgar Allan Poe passed away on October 7, 1849 in Baltimore, Maryland and was buried in Westminster Presbyterian
